East Georgia State College’s Bobcat Athletics teams are gearing up for their home game debuts by traveling around the state for games. This past weekend, the Lady Bobcat Basketball Team traveled to Albany, Ga. for a tournament. In the three-game set, the Lady Bobcats came away with one victory and two defeats, losing one game by just one point.

“I’m pleased with the team’s efforts and the future looks bright for our Bobcats this season,” said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Warren Goosby.

The Lady Bobcats Softball Team was also on the road, traveling to Lander University on Friday for a scrimmage game. The Lady Bobcats fell 2 to 1, but were back in action on Sunday against Georgia Southern University. The game stayed close until the Lady Bobcats fell behind late in the game, losing to the Eagles 10 to 5.

Coming up this week, the Bobcat Baseball Team will hit the road to take on Georgia College in Milledgeville for a scrimmage on Friday, October 12 beginning at 1 p.m. On Saturday, the Lady Bobcat Softball Team will head to Cochran to take on Middle Georgia in a double-header scrimmage with start times at 2 and 4 p.m. The Men’s Bobcat Basketball Team will also be on the road, heading to Barnesville for the Basketball Jamboree at Gordon State on Saturday.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for EGSC’s annual Midday Madness on October 19, where the Men’s Bobcat Basketball Team will make their home-court debut at 12 noon. The Bobcats will be cheered on by local public school students, so this will definitely be a fun opener for the EGSC Athletics Season!
