Swainsboro preps for Region 2-AA play

   The Swainsboro Tigers will host the Metter Tigers this Friday night as region play gets started for Swainsboro. One would expect that the tough early season schedule has prepared Swainsboro to play its best football against their region foes.
   With Swainsboro (2-2) having a bye last week, the rest of Region 2-AA kicked off their region play and a couple of upsets took center stage. Metter lost to Toombs County in overtime, 20-17, and Jeff Davis lost to Bacon County 24-17. Those might not be monumental upsets, but Bacon County and Toombs County are both extremely young and inexperienced teams who are rebuilding, and Metter and Jeff Davis are thought to be legitimate playoff teams this season. Neither played anywhere near their capabilities and are now 0-1 in the region after having played and lost to teams that will likely reside in the cellar of Region 2-AA.
