Devane introduced Tres Herrin, former president of the Rotary Club of Vidalia. The Mercy Ministries is the umbrella of Mercy Medical Clinic, The Mercy Guild, Compassionate Care Dental Clinic, and Mercy Helps Ministry.

It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization offering a healthier way of life for hundreds of people living in a cycle of poverty. The clinic is based on the successful national model, Volunteers in Medicine, that engages retired and practicing doctors, nurses, and non-medical volunteers to provide compassionate care, free of charge, to the uninsured. The clinic does not rely on government funding and does not accept any insurance. Mercy Medical Clinic is 100 percent supported by private donations and in-kind contributions of professional services and supplies.
