Funeral services for Viola Oneta Scarboro, 86, of Emanuel County will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Miller and Reverend Nick Hazleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at Emanuel Medical Center.
Ms. Viola One Scarboro was the daughter of the late Luke and Rosalee Moore. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, Scarboro was preceded in death by her son, George Arthur Scarboro; four infant sons; brothers, Talmadge Peebles, George L. Peebles, and Rudolph Peebles; and her sister, Christine Roberson.
Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Mills and Sheryl Scarboro of Swainsboro; son, George (Nancy) Edward Scarboro of Kite; grandchildren, Richard (Dawn) Bedgood, Johnny (Stacy) Mills, Tommy (Mary) Scarboro, Johnny Price, Shane Scarboro, Patty (Howie) Kersey, Samantha (Kendall) Peebles, Joni (T.J.) Ours, Heather Price, Lashley Coleman, Cheyanne Scarboro, Bobbie Jo Smith, and Matt Williams; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roy Joe Peebles, Johnny Mills, Hunter Mills, Kendall Peebles, Tommy Scarboro, and Joseph Kersey.
Tomlinson Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
