Fire in Summertown

A house fire has been reported in the Summertown area. Keep a lookout for updates.

On Thursday, June 30, a fast-moving fire destroyed two rooms and severely damaged others. The 8:43 a.m. call to 9-1-1 reported a dryer fire at 1823 Highway 56 North. Burke speaks to Wiregrass Chapter

The Wiregrass Chapter of the Georgia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) held its monthly meeting Thursday, June 9 at New China Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. with Vice President Steve Burke presiding. The meeting had 27 members and guests in attendance.

Victim stated the offenders were allowing her daughter to be beat up by other relatives.

Officers responded to an officer in need of assistance where the offender was being combative and uncooperative.

Cooks of the Week

This week’s Cooks of the Week are Jonathan and Ashley Henry. The couple was married on April 29, 2012. Together, they have three children: Jace, who is four, and Kanan and Nolan, who are 9-month-old twins. The Henrys enjoy spending time together, hunting and fishing, and playing together. The family resides in Swainsboro.
