Melton McDaniel, 76

Funeral services for Melton McDaniel, 76, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas were held Thursday, March 26 at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Howe, Texas with Rev. Larry Blockas officiating. Military burial services were held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. He died March 23, 2009, at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. McDaniel was a native of Swainsboro. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, worked for Burlington Industries for 12 years and he and his brother owned Mac’s Tax and Bookkeeping in Sherman, Texas for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy McDaniel.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn B. McDaniel; two daughters and son-in-laws, Charlotte and Richard Flaker of Sherman, Texas and Terri and Charles Landes of Howe, Texas; three brothers, (twin) Melvin McDaniel of Denison, Texas, Jimmy and Johnny McDaniel of Swainsboro; one sister, Annette Evans of Swainsboro; three granddaughters, Ashley, Megan and Whitney Landes of Howe, Texas.
