SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Jack D. Brannon, 76, was held Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr.
Robert Blankenship officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Brannon was a native of Emanuel County and a 1950 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, retired from Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Co and was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Jimmy Morgan Sunday School Class and the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Marcelle Smith Brannon of Swainsboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald Earl and Polly Brannon of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six nephews, Evan Brannon, Nolan Brannon and Dale Brannon of St.
Petersburg, Fla., David Banks, Brandon Banks and Kirby Banks of Thomaston.
Pallbearers were nephews Evan Brannon, Nolan Brannon, Dale Brannon, David Banks, Brandon Banks, Kirby Banks and Joe Lisenby.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Jimmy Morgan Sunday Class and the Kiwanis Club.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or Friends of the Library Fund in care of Franklin Memorial Library, Swainsboro.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
