Brett Garrett celebrates first birthday at party

Brett A. Garrett, son of Allen and Candi Garrett of Garfield, celebrated his first birthday March 26 at George L. Smith State Park near Twin City. Brett was 1 year old March 22..

The theme of the party was “First Birthday Boy” with matching tablecloth, centerpiece, tableware and birthday balloons. His birthday cake was trimmed with blue and yellow icing with “1 2 3, ABC” and Baby Big Bird and Baby Ernie on top. “Happy First Birthday, Brett” was also inscribed on the cake. Also served were pigs-in-a-blanket, Rice Krispie treats, brownies, M&Ms, cheese puffs, potato chips and dip and soft drinks.

Guests were grandmother, Sharon Neeley of Garfield; aunt, Billie Jo Neeley of Savannah; great-grandmother, Laverne Garrett of Swainsboro; great-aunt, Tonyha Williams and Miss Helga Hasty, both of Metter; and great-great grandmother, Blanche Hux of Twin City.

Brett also received a special telephone call on his birthday from his father, who is currently serving in Iraq.
