Tigers almost reach state play-offs

Tuesday, Feb. 8

SHS traveled to play at Toombs County Middle School for the opening rounds of the Region 3-AA play-offs. The big cats matched up against the Gamecocks of Screven County for their first game. The felines were victorious, SHS-60, SCHS-49. Detronne Douglas was the top scorer for the Tigers with 19 points off the bench. Also, Tiger sophomores Jamail Turner scored 13 points and Neal David ended with 12 points.

Thursday, Feb. 10

The big cats played the highly ranked Toombs County Bulldogs who obviously had home court advantage. SHS lost a heartbreaker with the final score of 64-60, in favor of Toombs Co. Tigers productive in scoring points were Turner, who wrapped up with 17 points and Derrick Smith, who closed with 10 points. The Swainsboro Tigers finished their season with a final record of 17-11.
