James L. Raffield, 70

EAST DUBLIN—Funeral for James L. Raffield, 70, of East Dublin, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Veal officiating. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. He died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Raffield was born to Eugenia Currie Raffield and the late Johnnie L. Raffield on Feb. 24, 1934 at Glenwood in Wheeler County. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a life-long resident of Laurens County. He retired from Robins AFB and ARINC, Inc., Warner Robins, where he was a logistic manager for the B-52 Bomb Nav System and Precision Attack SPO, respectively. He was a very active member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in East Dublin, where he served as chairman of Trustees and teacher of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was predeceased by his father and brothers, Currie and Toney Raffield.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara F. Raffield of East Dublin; mother, Eugenia C. Raffield of Dublin; son, Richard Raffield; daughter, Elaine Benefield of Dublin; daughter, Myrlene Gay of East Dublin; brother, Kenneth Raffield of Dublin, Ohio.
Pallbearers will be Van Savage, Donnie Baker, Chuck Brown, Dwain Nix, Fred Smith and Jim Edenfield. Honorary pallbearers are John Sheppard, Roy Wood, Art Williams, Administrative Counsel of Gethsemane United Methodist Church and members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
