The Rotary Club of Swainsboro held its August 6, 2018 meeting at Catered Creations in Swainsboro. Cason DeVane welcomed everyone to the meeting. Tobe Karrh provided the invocation and led the pledge, and Rotary Four-Way Test. DeVane reminded everyone about the Rotary District Governor’s upcoming visit to Swainsboro on August 27. Shortly after a BOLO was issued on a red and white in color Doge can from Garfield Wednesday July 25, a Swainsboro officer observed the wanted vehicle. With resources in place, a traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of East Pine and North Coleman Streets. Two subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Emanuel County Jail.

On September 29, 2005, Roy Black began his employment with Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department (SECRD). As of July 25, 2018, Black has entered into retirement after 12 years of dedicated employment.

Nordson recently made a donation of 48 book bags, along with necessary supplies, for students at Swainsboro Primary School (SPS). The company also provided a $100 Wal-Mart gift card for the school to purchase any other supplies students may need. SPS is so appreciative to Nordson and its employees for their hard work and dedication to its community and students of Emanuel County.

The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting, Tuesday, July 24, at 7 p.m. at Catered Creations. With President Jim Clapham presiding, there were 21 members in attendance and no guests.
