Sheriff’s Report: Reports of burglaries

Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported several burglaries for the week. Other cases are:

Nov. 9

A Modoc Rd., Swainsboro, man reported unknown persons forced his back door open and damaged his window.

Nov. 12

A W. Moring St., Swainsboro, man reported someone stole his vehicle. Vehicle was found on Hwy. 57 E., off the roadway.

DEA boys’ basketball scrimmage to prepare for season

David Emanuel Academy completed final preparations for the beginning of the 2004-05 basketball season by splitting into two squads and playing a scrimmage contest last Thursday night at the DEA gym.

Swainsboro police officers reported numerous domestic incidents and thefts this week. Cases are:

Nov. 13

A Pughsley St. man reported a few young males threatened to plant drugs on his property. He said he is afraid they might hurt him.

SHS Beta Club sponsors talent show

The Swainsboro High School Beta Club is sponsoring its fourth annual Beta Lights Talent Show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 at the East Georgia College Auditorium. Palmer Gordon Edenfield Jr., 82

WADLEY—Graveside service for Palmer Gordon Edenfield Jr., 82, was held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Wadley Cemetery with Rev. Tom Harrison officiating. He died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 at Azalea Trace Nursing Center in Columbus.

A native of Wadley, Mr. Edenfield was a retired vice president of the Bank of Wadley and a United States Navy veteran.

GEMA distributes funding to Emanuel

Georgia Office of Homeland Security (OHS) and Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) has reimbursed Emanuel Emergency Medical Services $59,922 for the purchase of a cargo trailer, generator, personal protective gear and other equipment necessary for responding to incidents involving chemical, biological or explosives.
