Atkinson sentenced in Superior Court

Bobby Gene Atkinson was sentenced in Emanuel County Superior Court Friday, Dec. 3 by Chief Judge Walter C. McMillan, Middle Judicial Circuit.

Atkinson negotiated a plea of guilty on count 1, forgery in the first degree; and count 2, criminal attempt to commit offense of unauthorized distribution. He was sentenced to probation for five years on count 1 and four years on count 2 concurrent to count 1. he must … Read More


William Gunn, 71

WAYNESBORO—Funeral for William Gunn, 71, was held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Forts Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mildred L. Phillips officiating. Burial was in Kirkland Cemetery. He died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 in Burke County Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Emanuel County, Mr. Gunn was a member of Forts Grove Baptist Church.
