Carmichael and Womack receive service awards

Billy C. Carmichael and Ronnie Womack were honored at the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association First District Awards and Installation Banquet held Oct. 25.

Carmichael was presented the 35 year service award and Womack was presented the 30 year service award at the annual banquet held at the Nessmith-Lane Building at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Carmichael has served as director of Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department since 1969.… Read More

Hi, my twin brother, Leslie Wayne Lockhart, a sergeant in the USMC, is currently serving in Iraq (Fallujah). He got over there sometime in September, after being in Kuwait for a short time. Thanks for all you do in promoting support of soldiers in the armed forces. They really need it.

SWAINSBORO—Graveside service for Paul Tillman Berry, 84, was held Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery in Ellenton, Fla. with Rev. Harvey Whidden officiating. Burial was in Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 at Emanuel Medical Center after a brief illness.
