March meeting of Emanuel Retired Educators held at TCE

The Emanuel Retired Educators Association met on March 16 at the Twin City Elementary School. Principal Jim Jarvis welcomed the group to the school and announced lunch would be served in the media center. Mr. Woodrow Billups, the president, thanked the principal and had a blessing.

ECI Band earns honors

Several members of Emanuel County Institute Band recently competed to earn positions in the District 1 Honor Band which consists of students auditioning from a 13-county region.

    METTER—Funeral for Joan Collins Leggett, 71, was held Friday, April 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Metter Primitive Baptist Church with Elder John Sheldon Mikell and Mike Whelchel officiating. Burial was in Lake Cemetery. She died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at her home.
