Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for youth basketball Nov. 15-19 at the Recreation Department, 632 McLeod Bridge Road, Swainsboro. Registration hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Youth basketball is for girls and boys, ages 8-12. First time participants must bring a birth certificate. Registration fee is $20. For information, call the Recreation Department at 237-8098.

SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Sing Powell Tomlinson, 74, was held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Tom M .Wages Funeral Home, Snellville Chapel, with Dr. Russell G. Shinpoch and Dr. Howard Ramsey officiating. Graveside services were Sunday, Nov.14, 2004 at 3 p.m. in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Dr. Bob Blankenship officiating. He died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2004, at the Gwinnett Medical Center after an extended illness.

Second annual Sunshine House skeet shoot held Nov. 10

The Sunshine House Children’s Advocacy Center held the Second Annual Five Stand and Skeet Tournament on Wednesday, Nov 10. The all-day event was hosted by Crider Poultry Inc. and held at the skeet facility of Mr. Billy Crider near Metter.

Seedling Garden Club

Seedling Garden Club has joined with the county to help beautify Emanuel County Courthouse. With advice from Clerk Jay Lawson and Judge Kathy Palmer, members have worked to landscape the flagpole area with pansies for the winter.
