‘Heart and Soul’ coming April 19

The fifth annual “Heart and Soul” Bus Tour of Georgia Downtown will stop in Swainsboro Tuesday, April 19. The tour will officially arrive at the Boneyard at 12:30 p.m. and will be welcomed by the Swainsboro Middle School band. The tour is sponsored by Georgia Cities Foundation and Georgia Municipal Association.

Miss Edmond is central figure at shower tea

Sara Edmond, bride-elect of Mathew Claxton, was the central figure at a shower tea Sunday, March 13, at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Ladies of the church hosted the occasion.

The honoree chose a black skirt with a pink sweater for the occasion. She was presented a cor-sage of white daisies.

Dekle-Lamb scholarship

A full-tuition leadership scholarship has been established at East Georgia College by Linda and David Lamb of Swains-boro. The scholarship, named the Dekle-Lamb Kiwanis/Circle K Scholarship, will be awarded to the president of East Georgia College Circle K Club.

Maci Lively is Miniature Miss Emerald City

Maci Lively of Swains-boro, 6-year-old daughter of Billy Lively and Michelle Thompson, was crowned Miniature Miss Emerald City in Dublin. The pageant was on March 12. Maci also rode in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin March

19.Maci’s grandparents are Roy Lively, Janice Tompkins and Ben and Scarlett Odom.

    Daniel Wyatt Nunn competed in the six-ball pool tournament held last weekend at U.S. 1 Billiards. Nunn won four consecutive matches to take his first win ever. He is the 9-year-old son of Melvin and Harriett Nunn of Swainsboro.
