World War II veteran Jim Free was interviewed at Franklin Memorial Library Thursday, March 31. Mr. Free was drafted into service on Sept. 10, 1942. After being trained in aircraft mechanics and aerial gunnery, he became a 1st engineer for a B-17 flight crew and became part of the newly formed 457th heavy bomb group.     Swainsboro Shrine Club will have their 4th Annual Shrine Golf Tournament May 19 at Swainsboro Golf and Country Club.     EAST DUBLIN—Funeral for Ruth Stroud Padgett, 81, was held Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills Church of God in East Dublin with Rev. Jeff Padgett and Rev. Edward Wilkes officiating. Burial was in Dublin Memorial Gardens. She died Monday, April 4, 2005.
