TWIN CITY—Funeral for Ellis Mosley, 61, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at the W.H. Whitaker Memorial Chapel at Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter. Burial was in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Emanuel County. He died Thursday, Dec.30, 2004 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

Mauldin on All-Star rugby team

Brett Mauldin, graduate of Gatewood in Eatonton and now a senior at Lee University of Cleveland, Tenn., was honored in 2004 as the first and only Lee University rugby player selected to the All-Stars Collegiate Men First Team Travel Squad of the Mid South Area. Emanuel County Department of Family and Children Services was ranked among the state’s best in delivering services to its citizens in 2004. Emanuel County tied for fifth place among Georgia counties in achieving its performance goals for fiscal year 2004.
