David Emanuel Academy staged a four run rally with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to post a dramatic come-from-behind 6-5 win over first place Robert Toombs Christian Academy in Stillmore last Tuesday. The victory improves the Eagle’s region record to 3-3 while the Crusaders fell to 3-1 with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

Burriss to speak at Rotary April 25

Ms. Annie Hunt Burriss, senior advisor to Gov. Sonny Perdue and executive director of Commission For A New Georgia, will speak to the Rotary Club of Swainsboro at its regular weekly luncheon on Monday, April 25. She was appointed by the governor to these positions Jan. 1, 2004. Prior to this appointment, Burriss served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Legislative Affairs and Executive Appointments for the governor.

    DUBLIN—Funeral for James Lambuth “Sammy” Hutchinson, 91, was held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005 at First United Methodist Church, Dublin with Rev. Gene Cochran and Dr. Jack Key officiating. Burial was in Kea’s United Methodist Church Cemetery in Adrian. He died Tuesday, April 5, 2005.
