DAR holds meeting March meeting

Gov. David Emanuel Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met Thursday, March 10, at noon at Temptations Restaurant. Upon arrival, members enjoyed a delicious boarding house lunch. Hostesses were Mrs. Angie Russell and Mrs. Jean Clifton.

Mrs. Brett Merrill, regent, presided and opened the meeting with the DAR ritual, The American’s Creed and pledge to the United States flag.

Melissa Clifton Hughes of Twin City announces the birth of her son, Blake Edward Hughes, March 16 at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro. Maternal grandparents are Dianne Schoen of Swainsboro and Ricky and Brenda Clifton of Twin City. Great-grandparents are Dorothy Bennett and Myrle Deal. Blake has one sibling, Logan Clifton.

Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported making several arrests during the last two weeks. Cases are:

March 10

A Scarboro Church Rd., Twin City, man reported someone entered his shed and stole several hunting items.

March 18

Employee at Department of Administrative Services reported someone had entered the premises through a cut fence. Found was a duffel bag containing camouflage clothing and two video cameras.
