Miss Boatright honored at miscellaneous shower

Holly Boatright, future bride of Jim Beecher, was honored at a miscellaneous shower Wednesday, May 11 at 3 p.m.

Teachers at David Emanuel Academy hosted the occasion.

Miss Boatright was attired in gray linen capri pants with a black and gray V-neck top featuring long sleeves and black satin bow tied in the back. She was presented a corsage of ivory miniature roses with greenery and white ribbon.

Sheriff’s Report Deputies report busy week

Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported numerous cases for the week.

Cases are:

May 17 A Bream Lane, Swainsboro woman reported the biological mother of her stepson threatened to kill her.

Deputies reported an uncooperative inmate who was being escorted to a holding cell. Offender attacked a supervisor, punching her on the neck and pulling out some of her hair.

SHS celebrates Senior Honors Night

Swainsboro High School celebrated Senior Honors Night Tuesday, May 3, 2005.

The theme for the evening was The Best of SHS. Thirty –two academic and one atheletic scholarships totally in excess of $35,000 were awarded to seniors. The scholarships and achievement awards were presented by a number of institutions, organizations, and groups. Students were honored for highest averages and achievements in scholastic and extra curricular activities at Swainsboro High School.… Read More

Youth revival slated at Thankful BC

Thankful Baptist Church in Stillmore will have a youth revival June 2-3 at 7:30 nightly. Guest churches are as follows:

Thursday: Willow Springs, Rountree Chapel, Johnson Chapel. Guest speaker, Rev. Marque Lewis.

Friday: McCloud Covenant AME of Swainsboro, Springfield Church of Oak Park, Stillmore Deliverance Center. Guest speaker, Rev. Marque Lewis.
