David Emanuel Academy’s boys basketball team ended the 2004-05 regular season with a thrilling come-from-behind 49-41 win over Providence Christian last Saturday night in Savannah.

Johnson retires from Rayonier

Mary Elizabeth Johnson recently retired after 35 years of dedicated service to the wood products industry. Mary began working with Allied Timber on Nov. 3, 1969. Through the years, multiple companies owned the manufacturing facility, including St. Regis, Champion and now Rayonier Wood Products. The last 11 years of Mary’s dedicated service were spent with Rayonier Wood Products.

Drs. Derden, Toll to lead Sherman tour

Dr. John Derden (East Georgia College) and Dr. Larry Toll (Brewton-Parker College) will host a tour of the routes and sites associated with Sherman’s March to the Sea in November and December of 1864 on Saturday, Feb. 19.     Adi Galloway, right, vice president for Fiscal Affairs at East Georgia College and Swainsboro Kiwanis member, recently presented a donation on behalf of the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club’s Children’s Priority One Project to the Sunshine House’s Children’s Advocacy Center in Swainsboro.
