Altamaha Area Agency on Aging to conduct public hearing

Heart of Georgia Altamaha RDC Area Agency on Aging will be conducting a public hearing during the month of January. Purpose of the hearing is to provide interested persons with an opportunity to voice concerns on programs affecting older citizens and their caregivers in the Heart of Georgia Altamaha area. Steve Newton, Farm Service Agency executive director, has announced that the Presidential Major Disaster Declaration M1560 now includes 23 additional Georgia counties, including Emanuel, due to damages caused by tropical storm Frances that occurred in September.

THOMASVILLE—Services for Harriet J. Scott of Pavo were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel in Thomasville. The Rev. Larry Harris officiated and interment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Scott died Dec. 20, 2004 at her residence.

KITE—Funeral for Carlton Pringle Cummings, 61, was held Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Claxton Grove Baptist Church in Kite with Rev. Alton Walker Sr. officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery in Kite. He died Dec. 15, 2004 after a brief illness.
