Dear Savvy Senior,

I broke my wrist last month when I slipped and fell walking out to the car. After an X-ray and a hand cast, my doctor told me that my fracture may be an early sign of osteoporosis.     Swainsboro police officers reported many cases of theft during the week. Other cases logged are:

    Feb. 8

    An Advance St. man reported someone keyed and rolled toilet paper on his car.

    A woman at Wal-Mart reported losing her cell phone.

    Feb. 9

    A Pratt Ave. woman reported a woman, whom she identified, stole 10 of her morphine pills.

    After finishing fourth in the GISA region 2-A tournament, the David Emanuel Academy Lady Eagles will now focus on the upcoming state tournament which begins today at Darton College in Albany. DEA will play Westwood, the number three team from region 3-A at 7:30.

    Emanuel County Head Start in Swainsboro celebrated its annual Hug Your Child Day on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Parents were encouraged to give their children plenty of hugs and make them feel special.
