Local woman to help tsunami victims in India

Angela Humphrey of Twin City is on a mission. As director of Reaching for Souls “Vision Partners” Ministries, Humphrey makes routine trips to India and other nations to help the poor. However, the recent catastrophic tsunami that hit India has made her vocation even more important. She hopes to make another trip to India next month to personally help the affected areas.

Police Report: Domestic incidents reported

Swainsboro police officers reported several cases of domestic abuse and theft. Cases are:

Dec. 29

A Happiness Dr. woman reported a woman, whom she identified, grabbed her by her hair.

A W. Moring St. woman reported a man, whom she identified, pushed her and was abusive.

A Felix St. man reported someone stole his bicycle.

Tigers play in three close region games

On Tuesday, Jan. 4, the Tigers traveled to Eastman to take on the Indians of Dodge County. The contest was action-packed throughout, but with eight seconds left on the clock sophomore guard Neal David drained a game winning 12 footer. On Tuesday, Jan. 4, the Lady Tigers went to Eastman to take on the Dodge County Indians. The girls played a good game, but the Lady Indians were too much. DCHS-51, SHS-39 was the final score. GLENNVILLE—Funeral for Robert E. Edenfield, 85, was held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel of Savannah. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military honors. He died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at his residence in Glennville.

    Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. public holiday Monday, Jan. 17, the monthly meeting of Emanuel County Commission has been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. Similarly, the meeting of Swainsboro city council has also been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
