Who says we can’t get fall color here? This picture was taken on Old Nunez Road in Swainsboro. Fall colors may be few in this region, but one can always count on some of them peeking through the pines on various roads in Emanuel County. Enjoy!

    Ernestine Mathews, 82

    WADLEY—Graveside service for Ernestine Mathews, 82, was held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Wadley Cemetery with Rev. Ray Garren and Rev. Charles Wallace officiating. She died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley.

    Mrs. Mathews was born in Cameron, S.C. but had lived in Wadley for the past 54 years. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

    Emanuel Medical Center volunteers were treated to a luncheon Nov. 18 at Spivey Pond House. Emanuel Medical Center Administration and Hospital Authority hosted the event in appreciation of the recent donation of the automatic doors and silk plants given to Emanuel Medical Center by the volunteers.
