Valoria Victoria Shipman of Swainsboro was recently installed as the president of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Tennessee. GARFIELD—Funeral for Hilda Boatright Wiggins Cook, 86, was held Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Garfield Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery in Garfield. She died in Aiken, S.C. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005.
