Hundreds of Georgia firefighters from statewide locations are scheduled to attend the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) 14th Biennial Georgia Fire Equipment Show to be held Wednesday, May 25, at the State National Fair Grounds in Perry from 8 m. to 3:30 p.m.

River Rats raise $17,000 for Shriners

The Ogeechee River Rats recently raised $17,000 for the Swainsboro Shrine Club. Participants in the race boated down the Ogeechee River in flat-bottomed boats and 9.9 motors.

Hudson enlists in Navy

Blake E. Hudson, son of Sonya K. and Joseph L. Hudson of Adrian recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program at Navy Recruiting District, Jacksonville, Fla.

Hudson will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy’s Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
