SHS students advance to state weight-lifting championship

On Saturday, Feb. 26, Swainsboro High School participated in the GACA-Lee Murray Weight-lifting competition held at Statesboro High School. Thirty SHS athletes participated in the event. Two SHS athletes, Antwon Canady and Markus Foots, finished as the runner-up in their weight classes and will compete in the GACA state weight-lifting championships. COLUMBUS—Memorial service for Mrs. Nina M. Faulkner was held Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 at 4 p.m. at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in Parkhill Cemetery.

She died Monday, Feb. 14, in Charlotte, N.C.
