SWAINSBORO—Funeral for James Leroy Mosley, 63, was held Friday, April 29, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mosley’s Funeral Home with Elder Delmus

G. Mosley officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died April 26, 2005 at Carl Vinson VA Hospital in Dublin after an extended illness.

    Maurell Larrion McMillan, daughter of Mary McMillan of Stillmore, celebrated her birthday April 23 at Harmon Park in Swainsboro. Maurell was 2 years old April 24.

    Gov. Sonny Perdue proclaimed April 26 as Confederate Memorial Day. In commemorating this declaration, David Greenway, Fred Womack and Joey Peebles set up a display of Confederate memorabilia at Franklin Memorial Library.     Heatwave competes in tournament

    The Heatwave 14 and under fast-pitch softball team played in the USFA “Fast-pitch In The Pines” tournament. The tournament was held Saturday, April 9, in Dublin at Southern Pines Sports Complex. Fourteen teams participated in the 14 and under age group. The Heatwave played Georgia Heat for their first game of the day. The Heatwave won 5-4.
