Outlook

The seventh grade OUTLOOK class at Swainsboro Middle School participated in a trial simulation called “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.” Mrs. Sonya Cowart’s reading class served as the jury that found the defendant in the case guity.     Cedric Porter, MD, Keith Lamb and Clark Dixon were each presented a plaque of appreciation for serving on the Emanuel County Hospital Authority. The presentations were made at the annual Christmas dinner for the Medical Staff and Hospital Authority held at Emanuel Medical Center Dec. 9.

    Icy wonderland

    Emanuel County residents woke up to an icy wonderland the day after Christmas. Icicles hung on trees and roof tops after a night of rain and sleet. Although we did not get any snow, the ice crystals shining in the morning sun were definitely a pretty picture!

    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Lanie Mae (Lannie) Thomas Walden, 93, was held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at Swainsboro-Emanuel County Auditorium at 11 a.m. with Bishop Rebecca Fletcher and Bishop Charles E. Campbell presiding. Burial was in Adrian Cemetery in Adrian. She died Dec. 10, 2004.

    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Mary Lewis Turner was held Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Ohoopee Grove Baptist Church in Nunez with Pastor Eugene Davis officiating and Rev. Keith Moore assisting. Burial was in Flat Ford Cemetery in Nunez. She died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta after an extended illness.
