Hawhammock Baptist Church’s Upwards Basketball Program has been fun and enjoyable for all the participants. Before arriving in Emanuel County, the program was started in 1986 by Caz McCaslin at a church in Spartanburg, S.C. Currently, 1,200 churches in the country offer the program. Lincie Dee Lawson, 94

SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Lincie Dee Lawson, 94, was held Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Lindy Webb and Elder Jerry Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Elder Woodrow Beasley officiating. She died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Emanuel Medical Center after brief illness.
