SWAINSBORO—Funeral for C. Oliver Fruitticher, 88, was held Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Rev. Nita Crump-Howard officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at Emanuel County Nursing Home.

Greater S. James will celebrate first choir anniversary Jan. 23

Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its first choir anniversary Sunday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. Rev. Bennie Brinson is pastor.

Guest choirs will be St. James Youth, mass and male choirs, St. Paul of Register, Holy of Twin City, Uplifted Voices and Johnson Chapel.

Refreshments will be served.

Soldiers from Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 214th Field Artillery, Georgia Army National Guard in Waynesboro, performed their Annual Weapons Qualification at Ft. Gordon Jan. 7-9. University of Georgia Head Football Coach Mark Richt will speak in Sandersville Thursday, Feb. 10, 7 p.m. at a fundraiser for The Sunshine House Children’s Advocacy Center in Swainsboro.
