‘Music Americana’ concert slated May 13 at EGC

Emanuel Arts Council, Inc. will present a free Choral Concert called “Music Americana” on Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Luck Flanders Gambrell Auditorium of East Georgia College.

SUMMERTOWN—Memorial graveside service for Russell Carlos “Rusty” Oglesby, 51, was held Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Midville City Cemetery with Rev. Phil Wilson officiating. He died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Veterans Hospital in Richmond, Va. after an extended illness.

Council rescues wetland

At its Monday meeting, Swainsboro city council was approached by several residents who were concerned about a parcel of property on West Main and Tyson streets that has been advertised as surplus property for sale.

Anderson crowned Teen Miss Beauty Queen

Crystal Kay Anderson, 16-year-old daughter of Debra and Chris Collins of Twin City, competed in the 2005 Ms. Magnolia pageant in Millen at Magnolia State Park. She was crowned Teen Miss Beauty Queen, Sportswear Queen and prettiest hair winner.

Crystal received a crown and several trophies. She is an active sophomore at ECI and is involved in dance and pageantry. She also holds other southeast titles.

    A luncheon and linen shower was given to honor Kim Kulp, bride-elect of Jim Youmans, at the beautiful country home of Sharon and Donny Wilson.
