EAC to host amateur art contest in June

Emanuel Arts Council’s is calling All Artists to participate in the Annual Local and Amateur Artists Exhibition at the Kalmanson Gallery June 12 through July 29.

Swainsboro High School students Chris Porter and Daniel Porter recently participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association’s All-State Chorus. This three-day event was held in Savannah. To earn this honor, Chris and Daniel had to pass auditions at both the region and state levels. By their selection, Chris and Daniel are among the very best high school singers in the state. SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Jacob Alan Stavely, 7, was held Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Midville Baptist Church with Rev.

Jerry Byrd officiating. Burial was held in Midville Cemetery. He died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Burke Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident.

The annual Letter Carrier Food Drive held May 14 has set a record in Emanuel County. Thanks to this year’s participation of Midville’s and Kite’s letter carriers, the drive collected over 3,824 pounds of food to be donated to Emanuel County Food Pantry. Volunteers and letter carriers are seen here unloading the haul. Congratulations, everyone!
