Georgia agencies urge caution during Memorial Day travel

With the first summer holiday around the corner, the Department of Motor Vehicle Safety (DMVS) and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) again urge motorists to plan extra time during Memorial Day travel in anticipation of heavier than normal traffic.

Rotary Cup Golf Tournament to be held June 9

The Rotary Club of Swainsboro will be hosting “The Rotary Cup” golf tournament on Thursday, June 9 at The Swainsboro Country Club. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch being served at noon. A shotgun start will begin tournament play at 1 p.m.

Krishan C. Patel, 4

SWAINSBORO—Visitation and funeral for Krishan C. Patel, 4, was held Saturday, May 21, 2005 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Tuesday, May 17, 2005.

Krishan was born in Plano, Texas, and had lived in Swainsboro for the last 10 months.

The Reynolds Clubhouse was the setting for a room-to-room brunch honoring Miss Ashlie Claxton, bride-elect of Ray McClellan, Saturday, April 30.

Hosting the event were Mrs. Shelli Smith, Mrs.

Summer Lunch Program begins in area schools, community centers
