Swainsboro police officers reported many breakins, domestic disturbances and other incidents. Cases logged are:

May 16 A man on Lucky St. reported he lost his cell phone.

A Project St. woman reported a man, whom she identified, hit her with a closed fist. Victim refused to press charges.

A man whose car was parked on Coleman St. reported someone stole all four tires off the vehicle.

CCR&R offers child abuse awareness training

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will offer a class on Child Abuse Awareness on Monday, June 6, from 6-9 p.m. at the Wayne County Extension Office, 1900 Sunset Boulevard, Jesup.

STATESBORO—Funeral for Rev. C. David Moore, 54, were held Friday, May 20, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Rev.

Paul Hindman officiating.

Perdue trying to woo the wrong crowd

Bobby BeecherSonny Perdue made history in 2002 when he became the first Republican since Reconstruction to win a Georgia governor’s race. But a repeat performance in 2006 seems unlikely. The reason: Perdue spends too much time trying to prove he’s not a racist.

In a way, I guess, Perdue’s behavior is understandable.
