MOULTRIE — Graveside rites for Scott Spencer Fitzgerald, 92, was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at Swainsboro City Cemetery at 2 p.m. He died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Park Regency.

Johnson Grove MBC hosts Thanksgiving service

A Thanksgiving Candlelight service will be held at Johnson Grove Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.

On the program will be Sarah Drisdom, Tyeisha Warthen, Roundtree Island Baptist Church and Durden Grove choirs, God’s Expression, Rev. Richard Lawrence, Rev. David Reese and Rosie Nobles.

Refreshments will be served.

DEAR EDITOR:

Next Tuesday, Nov. 23, there will be a run-off to select a judge for the Georgia Court of Appeals. A low voter turnout is expected.

It is important for everyone to vote in this election. We need to insure the most qualified candidate is elected.

I encourage everyone to vote on Nov. 23.

Council to request occupational licenses

At its meeting Monday night, Swainsboro city council voted to study implementing occupational licenses on visiting vendors to the city. Thanksgiving travel accident predictions

Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety (DMVS) and the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) jointly released today the travel accident predictions for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Both Agencies urge caution, as the roadways will be crowded during this traditional time for families to get together.
