New books at library

Franklin Memorial Library received a shipment of new books this week, according to Ann Buxton, assistant library manager.

Among the titles are James Patterson’s, The Fourth of July, (regular print and large print editions) and Last Call for Blackford Oakes by William F. Buckley, Jr.

Non-fiction titles include Chicken Soup for the Recovering Soul and “Supernanny” Jo Frost’s How to Get the Best From Your Children.

Ben Bowden and Kim Folds, future bridal couple, were entertained at a miscellaneous couples shower Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m.

at Spivey Clubhouse.

    THAILAND—A private family service for Dick Russell Riner, 74, was held in Thailand for Dick Russell Riner, 74, recently. He died May 6, 2005 in Nakornsawan,, Thailand.

    Mr. Riner was the son of the late James D. and Mary C. Riner. He graduated from Adrian High School and was an educator for the United States Army.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Collie D.
