BOE announces dates

Superintendent Butch Frye announced upcoming dates that will be of particular interest to Emanuel County parents.

Report cards will be issued on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Parents will have an opportunity to discuss their children’s progress with their teachers on Jan. 13, which has been designated as a parent-teacher conference day. Students will attend school only during the first half of that day.

Dec. 24

An Old Blundale Rd., Midville, woman reported her purse was missing from a car that had been towed.

Dec. 28

A Mary Ann St., Swainsboro woman reported someone had stolen her identity to cash her checks.

Dec. 31

Allen Charles Johnson, 33, 316 4th Ave., Twin City, was arrested for criminal trespass and cruelty to children.… Read More


DEA’s Lanier wins gold at Westfield

DEA’s Chris Lanier won all eight of his matches this weekend at the Wayne Morris Hornet Invitational Wrestling Tournament and won the gold medal in the 145 pound weight class. The tournament was held at Westfield School in Perry with nine Georgia Independent School Association schools, including DEA, participating.
