Ashlei Mills and Bruce Sanders, future bridal couple, were entertained at a handyman shower at the lovely country home of Franklin Sasser on Friday, Nov. 19. Hosting the party were Mr. Sasser, Russell and Leslie Johnson, W.C. and Dianna Grimes and Jim and Tracey Mercer.

The honored couple were casually attired for the event in blue jeans.

A delicious meal of soup, salad, sandwiches and dessert was enjoyed.

SFD hosts safety meeting at EGC

Swainsboro Fire Department personnel will host he Georgia Public Fire Safety Educators Association meeting Thursday, Dec. 9 in the Student Center at East Georgia College at 9 a.m. Fire safety educators throughout the state will be in attendance.

Assistant Fire Chief Pepper Fields said discussion will focus on the upcoming fire safety blitz slated for November 2005 in Swainsboro.


Mrs. Lucille Byrd, 70

SWAINSBORO – – Funeral for Mrs. Lucille Byrd, 70, was held Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Wiggins officiating and Pastor Henry L. Frison assisting. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died on Dec. 1, 2004 after a brief illness.
