   Throughout the month of October, The Refuge of Vidalia has sponsored, and continues to sponsor, community events in an effort to bring awareness to domestic violence. EMC organizes awareness walk

   Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) will sponsor a breast cancer awareness walk on Friday, October 19, at 1 p.m. The route will begin at the front of the hospital and will travel to Church Street, then down Victory Drive. DEA’s one-act play team to perform

   On Sunday, October 21, at 3 p.m. inside the school gymnasium, David Emanuel Academy’s one-act play cast will perform “Passing Periods at Pomegranate Prep.” Admission will be $5.

Orianna Baptist announces revival, homecoming

   Orianna Baptist Church will hold revival services October 22 through October 24 at 7 p.m. nightly. These services will feature Reverend Jonathan Shepherd of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

   The following Sunday, October 28, the church will celebrate homecoming. Reverend Donnie Crosby of Dublin’s Red Bluff Baptist Church will be the speaker. The service will start at 10:30 a.m.

Tomorrow, October 18, is Purple Thursday for domestic violence awareness. An annual community-wide photo will be held at the Swainsboro Downtown fountain at 10 a.m. The Forest-Blade will be there to take the photo for the newspaper, so make sure to wear your purple!
