Voices United to celebrate choir anniversary

On Sunday, February 24, Voices United will celebrate its 26th choir anniversary with a service beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Featured groups will include Voices United, Greater Macedonia North Praise Team of Dublin, Mount Zion Youth Choir of Soperton, and many more. The public is invited.


Gospel sing next weekend

Safe Harbor Worship Center in Adrian will host a gospel sing beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 16. Featured guests will include Sandra & Friends of Adrian and southern gospel singer/songwriter Michael Bright of Swainsboro.

The church is located at 111 Nora Boulevard. Admission is free, and a love offering will be received. 


Thomas to preach Black History Month program at Piney Grove

At 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Cross Green Community will welcome Superintendent Kenneth H. Thomas for its Black History Month celebration.

Green Grove Baptist Church will celebrate the 11th anniversary of its pastor, Minister Louise Passmore, on Sunday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at Summertown Community Center.

Reverend Charles Holloway will present the sermon and Lester Grove Choir is in charge of selection of hymns.

SPD seizes $5,500 of crystal methamphetamine

According to Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) Chief Randy Ellison, $5,500 worth of crystal methamphetamine was located inside a vehicle during a license point check held Saturday, February 2.
