During the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club’s meeting on April 2, Emanuel County extension agent Savannah Tanner joined members and talked to them about weed management.
According to Tanner, a weed is loosely defined as any plant growing somewhere it shouldn’t. There are more than 5,300 weed species in the United States. More than 20 of those species are problematic in the Emanuel County area.

Home-going celebration services for Edward “Eddie” Glover, 84, were held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Mosley’s Funeral Home. Interment followed with his final resting place being at Kirkland Cemetery. His road from labor to rest was traveled on March 29, 2019 by the angels from Heaven.

Playing up in class with several non-region quality baseball teams has payed off for the ECI baseball squad. They ended the regular season last week defeating Montgomery County and non-region Southeast Bulloch.
Region 3 was also competitive and tough this year and could have eight teams entering the state playoffs. Currently, the region has four teams in the top eight in power rankings.

Spring Break 2019 was special for select students from David Emanuel Academy. A few families traveled to Washington, D.C. and had the experience of a lifetime.
