EGSC baseball, softball seasons heading into conference play

   The seasons are beginning to wind down for the East Georgia State College (EGSC) Bobcat baseball and softball teams, but both are intent on finishing strong.

Winners announced in annual Emily Pestana-Mason Poetry Contest

   The annual Emily Pestana-Mason Poetry Contest winners were recently named at East Georgia State College. Emily Thompson was the first place winner, Elizabeth Wilkie of Richmond Hill took second place, and third place went to Mohmedyamin Chhipa of Wrightsville.

Miss EGSC visits Dairy Queen for Free Cone Day

   Recently, Miss East Georgia State College Taylor Sapp participated in Claxton’s Dairy Queen for Free Cone Day, where she served cones to all who came. This special day is held every year as a benefit for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Visitors get a free vanilla cone at participating Dairy Queens and can donate to CMN.

Bobcat baseball earns new school record, softball closes 2018 season

   On April 27, the East Georgia State College Bobcat baseball team traveled to Rome to play Georgia Highlands, making a clean sweep and winning all five games this week.    Recently, students at David Emanuel Academy competed in a spelling bee competition at Pinewood Christian Academy, which ended with DEA holding six of the top three finishing positions. Team Effort to host Pre-Mother’s Day event
