Camp Invention inspires young scientists

   More than 50 elementary students recently experienced the magic of invention at the Sudie Fulford Community Learning Center at East Georgia State College. In its sixth year at the Center, Camp Invention is a program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. ECHS to sponsor free adoptions for month of July

   Throughout the remaining month of July, the Emanuel County Humane Society (ECHS) will sponsor free adoptions for dogs at the Betty Gambrell animal shelter. Dixie Youth 12U finishes season as state runners-up

   Swainsboro’s 12-and-under (12U) Dixie Youth baseball team played the last installment of its state tournament at its home field located on Empire Expressway on Friday, July 13, and Saturday, July 14, to determine who would continue on to the Dixie Youth Majors World Series. Johnson hosts annual Pass, Punt, Kick event

   On July 4, a total of 29 children participated in the 12th annual A-B-C 1-2-3 Football Pass, Punt, Kick event. This program was held at the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department (SECRD) and is hosted annually by Lonnie Johnson of Swainsboro.
