Two-vehicle crash on Old Wadley Road

On Thursday, June 20, shortly after 3:30 p.m., Emanuel County EMS, fire-rescue, and sheriff’s deputies were sent to the intersection of Old Wadley Road and Fairground Road. A collision had occurred between a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Nissan Altima.

The occupants of both vehicles were checked by EMS personnel. There were no injuries requiring transport.

Kiwanians assist with Soperton’s autism run

Seven members of the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club traveled 24 miles to Soperton to help time the Autism 5K sponsored by Soperton Police Department. The run took place on Saturday, June 15.

The Swainsboro Kiwanians have been timing 5K and 10K runs for different groups for several years. When a group asks the club to time an event, members come with experienced timers and the equipment to accomplish the task. The Read More

The City of Twin City will be closing a portion of Parrish Pond Road directly below Twin City Elementary on Monday, July 1, at 7 a.m. until Wednesday, July 3, at 12 p.m. This is needed for drainage repairs to Parrish Pond Road.

Franklin Memorial Library’s first Summer Reading Program of the season was held Tuesday, June 4, with Emanuel County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee presenting a program about the universe.
