   Thurman Walden, 89, husband of 66 years to Celia K. Walden, gained his wings Friday, June 21, 2019 surrounded by his family at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Randy Walden and Reverend Mark Stewart officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Planned for Thursday, July 4, the event will feature a Meet the Chief Open House, parade, giant slip-n-slide, bounce house, fun run, water kick-ball, and snow cones. Class of ’69 celebrates 50-year reunion

Swainsboro High School Class of 1969 held its 50th reunion Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Cadle Barn in Swainsboro. Class members and guests enjoyed a seafood buffet prepared by Off the Hook with special desserts prepared by class members.

Lola is en route to Hartwell!

Yesterday, June 27, Emanuel County Animal Shelter posted a picture on its Facebook page of a recent intake they received and later named Lola.

It was reported that Lola was dumped out on Highway 56 in a horrible condition, left to survive on her own.
