   A memorial service for Charles Alvin Watson Jr., 60, of Adrian was held at 4 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home. He died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Fairview Park Hospital following an extended illness.

Location: ALL CAMPUSES, SWAINSBORO, STATESBORO AND AUGUSTA WILL BE CLOSED WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2018 AND THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2018

Events: All events scheduled for Wednesday, October 10 AND Thursday, October 11 on all campuses are cancelled.

DEA to dismiss at noon today, closed tomorrow

   DEA will continue normal class schedules until noon today, Wednesday, October 10. School is canceled Thursday, October 11, and decision regarding Friday school hours will be released at a later time.

   PSAT and 9 Weeks Exams will be administered in the morning as scheduled. Thursday’s exams will be Friday IF school opens.  If closed Friday, Thursday’s exams will be on Monday.

Drs. Cheek and Larson receive ALG Grant

East Georgia State College’s Dr. Lee Cheek and Dr. Brett Larson recently received an Affordable Learning Georgia Textbook Transformation Grant for 2019. ALG is a University System of Georgia Initiative that seeks to increase student success rates by reducing the costs of course materials.
