   Victim reported harassing communications.

   Victim reported a weapons violation offense.

   Complainant reported assault/battery.

   Complainant reported check forgery and check fraud.

   Complainant reported assault/battery.

   Complainant reported harassing communications and terroristic threats/intimidation.

   Deputies were dispatched to 102 North 6th Street in reference to a burglary.

Lady Dawgs defeat Johnson County

   The ECI softball team played their first region game Thursday when they hosted Johnson County.
   The Bulldogs defeated the Trojans 7-1 in front of the home crowd to go 1-0 in region.
   Zera Edenfield got the scoring going for the Bulldogs in the first inning with a solo home run to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.

DEA softball picks up another win

   The Lady Eagles varsity softball team opening its season with a win against Claxton on August 7, 8-0. The girls picked up their second win this past week, defeating Edmund Burke Academy 6-4 in Waynesboro on August 16.

Women’s conference to be held

   Beginning August 23 and continuing through August 25, Love In Action Worship Center will host a women’s conference entitled “The Confident Woman.”

   Funeral services Betty Jean Thompson, 86, of Swainsboro will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Swainsboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Leigh officiating.    Funeral services for Alton Claxton, 72, of Kite were held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mintons Chapel Advent Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Burton Dixon and Bob Rathburn officiating.
