The Georgia Historical Society will celebrate the 2019 Georgia History Festival with Super Museum Sunday and Georgia Day on February 10. In keeping with the celebration, the local Longview Farm and Home Museum will be open that afternoon from 1 until 4 p.m.

Graduates from the Vidalia and Swainsboro campuses of Southeastern Technical College were honored at a certificate ceremony December 11, held for students who completed certificate programs from Southeastern Technical College (STC).

Nordson Corporation presents robotics equipment to SHS

Employees of Nordson visited Swainsboro High School on Thursday, January 17, to personally present VEX Robotics equipment to the engineering and technology department.

The purchase of the robotics equipment was made possible thanks to a $10,000 Community Grant funded by Nordson Corporation.

While some people might think science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) is uninteresting, the students in Barbara Poole’s class at Swainsboro Elementary School might disagree! These third graders recently designed and built gingerbread houses out of graham crackers, frosting, candies, and a milk carton. The students worked hard on their creations, then enjoyed eating them once completed.

The South Atlantic District of the Georgia Society – Sons of the American Revolution held its quarterly meeting at 4 p.m. on January 18 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
