Due to inclement weather, the City of Midville has rescheduled its Christmas parade. Originally planned for Saturday, December 6, the new date is Saturday, December 15. Line-up will start at 1 p.m. on North Railroad Street, and the parade will begin at 2 p.m.
This year’s grand marshal will be Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Joel Davis Jr., formerly of Midville.

On Wednesday, November 28, troopers from Post 19 of the Georgia State Patrol kicked off the annual Tots for Tots drive at Walmart.
The program is run in conjunction with the Marine Corps Reserve and the Swainsboro Jaycees to distribute toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.

The Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) Foundation for Agriculture is offering $58,000 in scholarships to Georgia students pursuing a degree in agriculture, veterinary medicine, family and consumer sciences, or a related field.
