Preliminary hearing held for Woods and Lee, both defendants withdraw bond requests

Brandy Lee and Brandon Woods reported to the Emanuel County Courthouse this afternoon for a preliminary hearing, and both defendants withdrew their motions for bond.

Graveside services of Nina Trussell Curl, 85, of Swainsboro will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville with Reverend Albert Fields officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, at graveside. She passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Nursing home following an extended illness.

Seven sentenced in Superior Court

During Emanuel County Superior Court’s April 2019 term, the following individuals were sentenced:

Brandon Burns negotiated a plea of guilty (Alford) on one count child molestation, one count aggravated child molestation reduced to child molestation, and one count statutory rape. He was sentenced to 30 years, serve 15.

Three additional arrests made following December crime

On December 20, 2018 officers of the Swainsboro Police Department responded to the address of 625 Allen Street Lot 19 in reference to a burglary.
