Swainsboro Fire Department will be partnering with the American Red Cross Smoke Alarm Campaign to offer free fire alarm installation services to specific residents in Swainsboro on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

SHS Spanish teachers hosts Hispanic festival

On Friday, April 26, Swainsboro High School (SHS) Spanish teachers, Alexandra Flowers and Silvana Ibanez, hosted a Hispanic festival for Spanish II and Spanish III students. To participate in the festival, each student had to prepare a passport in class and present it when entering. Due to system upgrades, the Emanuel County Tax Commissioner’s Office will not be able to process any vehicle transactions on Thursday, May 23, or Friday, May 24, 2019. The office will only be able to process property and mobile home tax transactions.

Three from ECI accepted into EarthCare program

ECI students Taylor Rachels, Ethan Morton, and Marlana Griner have been accepted to EarthCare, a week-long environment-focused leadership development program held in June on the campus of Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.

These students are three of the 100 students selected into the program from a pool of applicants across the state.

EarthCare is a partner program between Georgia Power and 21st Century Leaders.


DEA has 13 top spellers
