The Rotary Club of Swainsboro held its February 5, 2018 meeting at Catered Creations in Swainsboro.

Al Lawson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order.

Zac Frye gave the invocation and Tanya Lane led the pledge and Rotary Four-Way Test.  Rotarians welcomed guest Carmen Tanner to the meeting.

The Rotary Club of Swainsboro held its January 29, 2018 meeting at Catered Creations in Swainsboro.  Al Lawson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. Lawson announced that Pinetucky Meats won the small business of the year award at the annual Chamber Banquet.    Funeral services for Frances P. Creech, 79, resident of Stillmore, were held Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Stillmore Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend George Archer and Reverend Louis Pearce officiating. Interment followed in the Stillmore Cemetery. She died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at her residence.

Swainsboro Police investigate commercial gambling at local business

   On the evening of Friday, Jan. 19, the Swainsboro Police Department personnel executed a search warrant on a East Main business known as Sunoco. The warrant came as a result of a three-month investigation involving the use of electronic gaming machines in violation of state gambling laws.
